Producing yellow cedar tapersawn shakes at Confederate Shake & Shingle on November 2, 2009. 400 bundles being shipped to New Zealand for new construction of a Cape Cod style B&B guesthouse. These 18″ x 5/8″ Tapersawn shakes to be used as exterior siding for the house. This is a quick and dirty edit of the video taken today at the mill. Beautiful wood and beautiful shakes!

Makes me wish I did REAL work for a living! These men and their machines are amazingly efficient. And those chunks of perfect, straight grained yellow cedar are almost delicious. Iwukk never be able to look at my cedar roof again without acknowledging where it cane from.
