HK Edgerton, a pro-South activist who was once leader of the Ashville NAACP, speaks about what the Confederate flag means, if it is a racist symbol and the untold story of Black people in the South and the flag. The first part is a short interview with HK and then he delivers a brief speech to the crowd at a Confederate flag rally.
It’s actually the Flag of The Virgina Army.
H K Edgerton Should be HEAVILY involved in the Tea Party movement-it is the FEDERAL government who has slandered his confederate heritage. He should be at the tea parties-where people speak out against the federal government-speaking out against the Federal government targeting the Confederate Flag.
God bless HK Edgerton and his family. His message is so incredibly important. Its a message that only a black man can deliver to the people, and I thank Almighty God for him.
He sure seems as you say. His years of activism point towards his dedication and desire to educate and bring folks together in the South.
I got to meet HK in person after seeing a couple of prior videos on him – I was at that Lee-Jackson dinner in Knoxville. For those of you who aren’t sure about this guy, let me assure you (and I was b in CA and grew up around S.Central L.A.) this guy is the real deal. Charming and seemingly tireless. God bless the South!

Are there any books or articles written by free blacks from the South which describe them enlisting of their own free will in the Confederate army?
If so, please provide a link or source. Seems like one of these first hand accounts would settle the issue of “black Confederates” forever.
I was born in Long Island NY, but I moved to FL. I fly my Florida State Flag, and am I proud Southern Nationalist. Not by birth, but by choice.
H K Edgerton is a good man and one day i hope to meet him. I just wish there were more people like him. More people like us. If there were we wouldnt ever have this problem. and that man who flipped the bird is truely showing his ignorance and hatred for anyone southron. Just shows how certain groops made for equality gets corrupt and starts hating and puttin down others. Well i guess i aught to maybe get some sleep. Deo Vindice!
