One Response to “Is it true during Civil War battles everything went silent during cannon and screaming; acoustic siluouette?”
  1. Barrett says:

The acoustic silhouette occurred depending on your position relative to the source of the sound, eg. cannon fire and rifle shot.
One could be relatively close to the source of the sound and never hear it because of the way sound waves travel and where one was standing, or hiding.
