   I accidentally deleted stellalouise1’s comment! Sorry about that. Here it is:

   A recall a woman in Gettysburg’s letter that was printed in a book I read once. She described the Confederate Army to her friend, their lack of good uniforms, etc., but she added “I must say that these men have a dash about them that our men lack”. It is still true. JEB Stuart is the poster boy for this type of spirit (though he had a smashing uniform to match it). Long live The South!

   My Great, Great, Great Grandfather fought in the 1st North Carolina Cavalry Company A under J.E.B Stuart and Wade Hampton. He survived the war and I can only imagine some of the great raids and memories he had riding with them.

    Went to the civil war museum in Richmond Gen Jeb Stuart’s uniform & cavalry mount is there along with his saber & pistol my favorite Confederate general a true hero

    I was named after him. My parents added an extra ‘b’ though rather than the Jeb that most people have.

    @colindominy Stuart was played in both “Gettysburg ” and “Gods and Generals” by Joseph Fuqua. Although not given much to do in either film, he did a pretty good job, and in “Gods and Generals” he does resemble Stuart. A little too skinny in “Gettysburg,” and we all know the beards were bad, right?

    Congrats !! Your posting is most interesting & enjoyable. It has all the right ingredients .. great visual montage .. terrific, 100% relevant soundtrack .. not too long, not too short, just right. Looking more closely at the stills of Gen Stuart in your post .. I’m amazed at the attention to detail & diligence shown by Ron Maxwell in his wonderful epic “Gods & Generals” .. in his casting & physical-appearance-resemblance of the depicted JEB Stuart character, compared to the real person ..
