A house fire in southern Ohio that killed a 13-year-old girl and injured her 14-year-old cousin apparently started in a living-room wall and spread into the attic, a spokeswoman for the state fire marshal said yesterday.

What is the meaning and origin behind the last name Deimel?

Deimel.
It’s my cousin’s last name. What she knows is that its of German and possibly Jewish descent. Only ONE site has confirmed this somehow, saying its from Southern Germany.
All records we’ve found are before 1940s, so I’m blaming all lack of information on WWII.
