My great great grandpappy lead the confederate troops from my state–and I hate this damn flag. Slavery was evil and that was what the war was about. Let it go my southern brethren
the Confederate flag never stood for slavery hate or racism, it stands for peoples freedom, forever. Alot of racist groups have taken the Confederate flag and put in a hate catagory, but they used the American flag as well and they use the American flag for there haterate more then any other flag. Is everyone just going to try and ban flags because it offends them, No. People need to grow up and reconize history and what each part of history means, literally.

There should not and need not be a debate about it, and Ku Klux Klan is a part of it too, it was founded as a social fraternity and it got out of hand, but it won’t be forgotten, history is meant to be remembered folks.
Well you should be aware the the modern KKK does not claim to be Southern at all. They are based in Gary, Indiana and most of the trash who fill their ranks are made up of Yankees and North-Westerners.
They have neither any legal claim, nor a moral one to the Southern Cross.
The only people that flag belonged to were the veterans who carried them and Stephen D. Lee in 1896 passed on the guardianship of Confederate history to the Sons of Confederate Veterans and UDC. Only they can define it.
the kkk are the ones who made people think the flag is a symbol of racism. the kkk originated in the south. us southners love the dixie flag. well they were southners so they did to, and once people saw them with the flag they took the flag as a symbol of hate. let me ask you a question. if the kkk would have flown the usa flag would you hate that flag?
Maybe Paleo-Conservative Republicans. I wouldn’t say the modern Republican party holds our views. If any party was to better represent Confederate views it would be the Libertarian Party or the Constitution Party.
And third, What are you a socialist or something??? “yay! tax me for the greater good!” The taxes didn’t go towards “public education”. Do you agree with unfair taxation??? Do you think the Colonies should have been forced to pay off the Seven Years War debt back in the 1770’s just because they had less of a voice in government??? Do you believe in Tyranny Of The Majority??? If you believe people should be forced to take care of those won’t take care of themselves then you have issues.

Secondly, Our ancestrors didn’t get their asses kicked. If anything the North did. Even though the Southerners were outnumbered 3 to 1, for each dead Southerner there were TWO dead Northerners. If you consider that getting your ass kicked then you have issues.

Every time I see the flag I remember my family who fought and defended the South during the Civil War. I think of my Heritage.
