Why do the vast majority of preachers, pastors, etc. always talk in fake southern redneck-like accent?

I’ve always noticed this and even met a few preachers whom faked the accent. Same is true with politicians and others in public positions. This drives me nuts especially watching a foreign preacher *try* to mask their native accent with a redneck one. Is this taught in the seminary and if so, why?
Ever hear the word.. generalization??
It is not fake, that is where they grow Christians. The South is full of them.
They have to take a course in seminary called “Redneck Voice 101″
.
What sermons do you actually listen to? What a stupid question, yes it’s taught as a 100 level seminary course… hilljack linguistics in theology.
You haven’t met enough preachers. Try listening to the message and look past the messenger.
No it is not taught, but people believe it is appealing so they do it. If God calls me to preach, I’ll speak with my own accent…
I have not noticed that – of course since I am from the south maybe that is why I haven’t noticed it. And no, it is not taught in seminary.
Never been to church, huh?
Maybe it’s because God chose the foolishness of preaching to spread the gospel. Don’t most preachers act foolish?
“For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe.” I Corinthians 1:21
It’s a matter of money!
They try to meld into the crowd as one of them to ilicit more dollars from the poor and uneducated.
And it works! Look at the biggies, especially the fat ones…..
with all honesty, sir faking to God is bad any time our heart are not honest before God we are lie rs and say not the truth..we are to love our enemy’s and bless those who moke and make fun of us . sometimes it hard to be like the lord requires us to be …but he has to have one hundred percent of our lives…before we can be in his will. i am a mountain preacher simply trying to tell people that God word is every word the truth and his command are blunt and not wavering ..we are to present our bodies a holy sacrifice unto the lord and i have meet few of us that have done this ..sir this is a must on all our parts ..please never forget God want have second best or be used like we use our spare tares for our cars.. we use them only when we need them.. God is not a spare tire,.. he is a loving merciful lord who wants the best for all men and he is grasious and slow to anger ..his ways are much higher than men and his thoughts are not like men thoughts….
anything fake is always to attract attention to themsleves…
don’t worry …jesus knows the difference…he is not dumb as these guys are…
